Busy busy busy!

Here's a pic of the girls digging for worms. We have a big dirt/leaf pile in the backyard and almost every morning they want to go out and dig!
The girls love to have Daddy "look for bugs" in their hair. They will relax and sit like this for half an hour of preening!
Willa is the "pop-pop" queen!
I bought this dollhouse for $20 at a garage sale. In this pic Joel is adding a few roof tiles that were missing and Larkin is "painting" it with water. I plan on repainting the whole thing and buying furniture/dolls for it for Larkin's 3rd b-day in September. She LOVES dollhouses! I just need to figure out where we're going to keep this thing because it is HUGE!

Off to Wisconsin on July 7!

Well it's been 105 here for a few days, and I have had enough! I found some tickets to Wisco for two weeks and the girls and I are going to take our own little vacation. Joel will stay here and work, and then we'll all go up again together in August. I'm a little nervous about flying with the girls by myself (and yes, we have a connection and our flight is during normal naptime!) but I'm trying to focus on the reward at the end of the plane ride! The trip should be a nice change of pace from the ridiculous heat around here!!

Here's a few pics of our visit there last August.

Father's Day

Larkin woke up Joel at 7 am for Father's Day. "Daddy, your watch says time go fishing! Time go dig some worms!"

We went fishing in Wimberley, which is about 30 min outside of Austin. It is one of Joel's favorite places to fish. The water is very clear and you can see the fish come eat your bait, which was exciting for the girls! Both girls caught a few fish. Larkin held each one after Joel took it off the hook and talked about all their body parts. She didn't mind getting her hands slimy and tossed each fish back in the water all by herself! Willa (like Mommy) preferred to keep her hands clean!

Our friends Zach, Amy, and their baby Tatum live in Wimberley, and we all went to Amy's parents house and swam in their pool. The guys had a cannonball contest and all the girls giggled with every big splash!

It was a relaxing Father's Day and we're thinking of making some sort of fishing trip our Father's Day tradition!

Potty training 101

Larkin is pretty much potty trained now, and I thought I'd share some of her potty wisdom:

"Reading books make me go pee-pee."
"Rip toilet paper, put on floor, means good luck."
"Me go poo-poo in diaper, Mommy make face like this (furrows brow and looks mad)."
"I can hear the ocean in there!" (while sticking head in toilet)
In public restrooms: "Can that toilet flush itself? Yes? Oh my pee-pee is not coming!"

Willa is trying hard to keep up with her big sister. She can say, "Me potty!" and "Me pee-pee!" Hopefully she will potty train early and we can be done with diapers!

Someone please sign this girl up for gymnastics!

I thought Larkin was playing quietly in her kitchen, but I should have known better. When I walked in I found her perched on her countertop. She asked if she could jump, and for some crazy reason I said yes. She is a little acrobat and will jump off of anything no matter how high.
